Wyoming: Come for the Empty Space, Stay Because the Wind Blew Your Car Over 

Forget Yellowstone and the Tetons for a second. The real Wyoming is a massive, beautiful square of pure, unadulterated middle-of-nowhere.

It’s the least populated state in the US, which means you’re far more likely to get stuck behind a herd of cattle or a lost pronghorn than an actual human being. The state tree should honestly be the orange traffic cone, and the official state pastime is holding onto your car door with both hands so the 50-mph wind doesn't rip it off its hinges.

Between the ancient monolith of Devils Tower, endless prairies , and towns where the local bar doubles as the post office, Wyoming is wild, rugged, and completely untamed. It's next door and we love to spend our weekends at one of the lakes or in the mountain ranges.
